Falling Leaves - Irish Whiskey Cocktail

This cocktail gives all the leaf peepers something to enjoy as the weather turns to Autumn in October. Falling Leaves is the perfect savory drink for foliage season. Tired from a long day of apple picking or raking leaves? This cocktail captures all your favorite fall flavors of apple, maple, and of course Irish Whiskey!
EQUIPMENT

Chilled Coupe Glass
- IWSA Cocktail Shaker
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 oz Irish Whiskey
- 3/4 oz Apple Cider
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz Maple syrup (diluted 2:1)
- Pinch of kosher salt
INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all ingredients in shaker

Shake for 20 seconds then strain into glass
- Enjoy with the falling foliage
NOTES
Due to the addition of cider and maple syrup, it is recommended to use a blended Irish Whiskey matured exclusively in bourbon casks. Two great choices would be Powers Gold Label or Roe and Co, both at slightly higher 43% abv. (Alternatively, the Whistler Calvados cask finish blend would also work well to accentuate the apple notes)
