The Graduate - An Irish Whiskey Cocktail

Cue "Pomp and Circumstance" as the spate of graduation ceremonies overtakes the month of June. In honor of those completing their course of studies, our IWSA Cocktail for June is The Graduate. This refreshing drink is perfect for outdoor graduation parties in the early summer sun. Even better, you don't need an advanced degree to make this cocktail.
EQUIPMENT

Collins or Highball Glass
INGREDIENTS
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
- ¾ oz Irish Whiskey
- ½ oz Triple Sec
- Tonic water
- Garnish: lemon twist
INSTRUCTIONS

Combine sweet vermouth, Irish whisky and Triple Sec in an ice filled glass.

Top with tonic water.

Stir briefly and garnish with lemon twist.

Drink.
Slightly higher proof blended whiskey recommended (e.g. 43% or 46%); Fercullen Falls (Powerscourt) or The Gael (JJ Corry) are good candidates.
