The James Joyce - Irish Whiskey Cocktail

Posted by Irish Whiskey USA on

The James Joyce was created in 2001 by Gary Regan, cocktail guru and author. The drink is similar to the classic Oriental but made with Irish Whiskey instead of American Rye. Named for the Irish writer known for famous works The Dubliners, Finnegan's Wake, The Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and of course, Ulysses. The events of that story took place on June 16th which is now commemorated as Bloomsday every year. Dublin was the subject of much of Joyce's writings. When preparing this Irish Whiskey cocktail, consider using a traditional Dublin made blend like Teeling Small Batch, Roe & Co, or the Dublin Liberties. If feeling traditional or nostalgic, use Jameson or Writers Tears' for this enjoyable cocktail.
