2023 Izzy Award Favorites

We are happy to announce the results of the 2nd annual 2023 Irish Whiskey Society America Awards. The IWSA Awards or Izzys (iW-sA) recognize and celebrate the brands and contributors to Irish Whiskey in the USA.
Nominations were taken during the month of November across 14 different categories. The top 5 in each category were then open for voting during December by anyone 21 years or older residing in the USA. You can see all the Nominations here & watch the LIVE Virtual Nomination Event here.

The Izzys as voted by the Irish whiskey community in the USA are listed below.
In all, sixty different Irish Whiskeys were nominated across twelve categories with two other categories related to whiskey makers. Irish Distillers achieved top spot as Favorite in four categories. Walsh Whisky had a very strong showing with nominations in four categories and Favorite in two. Connemara Original was our first repeat favorite in the Peated Irish Whiskey category. Newcomers McConnell's, Killowen, and W.D. O'Connell were all recognized as favorites for the first time, showcasing the increasing breadth of the Irish Whiskey industry.
New for the 2023 Izzys was the Lifetime Favorite awarded by IWSA president Allan Dwyer. This award recognizes the Irish Whiskey "that had significant impact on the history, growth or popularity of the Irish Whiskey industry". The 2023 recipient was Redbreast 12yr Single Pot Still from Midleton Distillery. A Lifetime Favorite will be awarded each year in addition to the voted categories.
